my story

My name is Marisa and I’m the artist behind MAS Design and Art.

After years of studio commission work, I discovered a new niche for my skill set of realism and speed - live wedding painting.

I embarked on the journey of building MAS Design and Art into a luxury live wedding painting brand from a head space of believing love is, and should be, the center of all things - work, home, family and life as a whole. With the support of my amazing husband and family, my dream became a reality.

After my first live wedding painting I immediately knew that I was passionate about crafting love stories into works of art you can hold in your hands. It comes through clearly in my work, and in the testimonials from my beloved clients. I approach each wedding day and each painting with the upmost respect, care, and joy.

I truly cannot express enough my gratitude for each and every couple I have the privilege to paint. 

my process

I arrive approximately two hours before your wedding begins to set up my art space and begin work on the background of your piece.

I paint and interact with your guests as they arrive, while also taking time to document in photos all the details of the moment for later reference to complete your painting in full detail.

At a predetermined time, I will connect with you and your partner to do a brief (typically 10 minutes) posed photo session for crisp, curated reference photos.

Throughout the rest of your wedding I will be on site painting live for you and your guests to experience the scene unfold.

Because I am a highly detail-oriented painter, and an oil painter, I never finish your piece the same day. I also do not schedule a reveal moment for the bride and groom, instead, feel free to stop by throughout the evening and see the progress of your painting. At the end of the wedding your piece comes home with me to receive the full detailed treatment I pride myself in.

You will continue to receive frequent photo and video updates from me during the studio completion process.

I intentionally limit the amount of weddings I accept each year to ensure each piece receives the time and attention it deserves.

Each painting is intentionally composed to focus on you, the love of your life, and the way your wedding day felt - not just how it looked. I focus on preserving the emotion of the moment, without distractions, and embracing light, movement and all those little details.

I approach every piece with the same level of care and detail, regardless of size, and include two rounds of thoughtful refinements during the finishing process.

A refined heirloom portrait capturing your ceremony or first dance with intentional composition and soft environmental detail, perfect for an intimate capture.

20x24 - $2,500

An expanded composition that allows for greater atmosphere, movement and depth. This size beautifully captures the essence of the moment- the light, the landscape, and the details that make up the tapestry of your wedding day.

24x30 - $3,000

An immersive statement piece, a portrait designed to hold the moment.

This size offers the most room for detail, feeling and depth, this becomes the lasting focal point, preserving the way your wedding day looked and felt.

30×40 - $4,500

Packages are customizable - pricing varies.

Travel fees apply greater than a two hour one way driving distance. I am based out of Hillsville, Virginia and I service all of Virginia, North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee and Eastern West Virginia.

Open to travel work on a case by case basis.
